ALIGN JV (Bouygues Travaux Publics, VolkerFitzpatrick and Sir Robert McAlpine)

Contract Value

£1,000,000 to £2,500,000

Tender Description

To facilitate the construction of the Colne Valley Viaduct, Align JV had to construct a temporary Jetty over the various water courses around the Colne Valley region. This was formed of a tubular piled foundation, steel frame structure, and capped with purpose made precast planks.
The works will consist of the removal of the jetty and finishes (barriers, lamp posts etc.) over water, with the tubular piles cut off below bed level of the various watercourses (piles cannot be removed completely and need to be cut down (probably from within piles)).
All materials removed will either taken back to main compound and disposed of by Align and/or removed from site and disposed of by the selected sub-contractor.
The scope will also include the burning/removal of pile cap sheet pile cofferdams to top of pile cap within the lakes.
The scope will also include the removal of temporary causeway and associated works (fill materials, tensioning bars, sheet piles (cut to ground level) and the like)
