Highcliffe Castle Stained Glass Display Cases

Buying Organisation

Contract Value

£40,000 to £50,000

Tender Description

Highcliffe Castle is a grade 1 listed building owned and operated by BCP Council. As part of a National Lottery Heritage Funded project, BCP have hired a Stained-Glass conservator to repair and conserve our historically important stained-glass. These restored glass panels will then be displayed for the first time in over 60 years. These bespoke cabinets will be funded from the budget provided by the Lottery Heritage Fund (LHF).

One of the objectives of the LHF project is the display of the restored stained glass. To meet this requirement, we have identified six panels that are to be displayed in wall mounted cases backlit with LED light plates and appropriate security. These wall mounted cases will be a one-off purchase for the exhibition of our collection.

The Council require cases to be designed, constructed and installed to display a variety of different sized stained-glass panels, with the ability to be adjustable to enable the rotation of the pieces on display.
