Brief description:

We are looking for a Social Work Area Manager, reporting to the Assistant Director Adult Social Care.
The post-holder will:
o Be responsible for the management and improvement of key performance for a number of service areas and the quality and standards that these service areas deliver.

o Ensure that approaches for service delivery are aligned with the developing focus of Adult Social Care in Sandwell, driving and leading change and ensuring that relevant policies and procedures are implemented as required. There is an expectation that cover is provided to other Operational Managers within Adult Social Care and that where appropriate will deputise for the Assistant Director.

o Have knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory framework and Government initiatives relating to service area, including safeguarding, and the needs of vulnerable adults.

o Be an expert professional in relation to their area of responsibility and will be expected to provide appropriate briefings, guidance and advice to senior management. This will include providing frameworks for the guidance, leadership and development of individual service areas in order to provide excellent customer care and services to Sandwell residents.

o Have excellent and positive relationships for effective partnership working.

o Act as day-to-day budget holder for an allocated and devolved budget for both staffing and commissioning budget, ensuring services are delivered within resources and external revenue opportunities

Enhanced Adults DBS required & Social Work England Registration required.
Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Social Work Degree/Diploma or equivalent.
