King's College London requires a Centralised Database Solution for use by the King's Technology Evaluation Centre (KiTEC). KiTEC is an External Assessment Centre (EAC) for National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). It is one of the four national centres commissioned to provide an independent assessment of medical evidence for the Interventional Procedures (IP) Programme and other NICE programmes.nnIn June, 2015 KiTEC was commissioned by NICE, as part of Commissioning through Evaluation (CtE) initiative, to run a national register project that would provide and analyse data to inform the development of a substantive commissioning policy for the Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SABR) procedure. SABR is an emerging novel radiation technique used for a variety of clinical indications, including treatment of oligometastatic disease, re-irradiation of spine and pelvis, and as a primary treatment for a variety of malignancies, including prostate, renal, upper GI and hepatobiliary.nnThe SABR register project is run in collaboration with three outside stakeholder groups: NICE, NHS England (NHSE) and the clinical Data Working Group which was established by NHSE prior to KiTEC's involvement. KiTEC is required by NICE to lead the project in liaison with these stakeholders.nnThe SABR register project is expected to run for at least three years from project initiation in June 2015, with the possibility of an additional two years for patient follow up. The entire project is expected to be completed by June 2020.
